Learning How to Play Soccer
We all know that there are sports that are complicated. Not so much because of the physical strength that comes with playing it, but because the rules are complicated. Soccer is different. It is a game where the most basic rules apply. This makes learning how to play soccer as easy as one, two, three.
Step One
Soccer is a basic sport that requires very little skill. Pretty much anyone can kick a ball around. Kids love doing it and most parents enjoy kicking it back to their child. As to other skills, you have to be able to keep your hands off the ball and be able to move in a forward motion to get to the goal area. It requires very little physical skills or endurance if you are simply playing for fun and children are able to play it in their backyard since you need virtually no equipment other than a ball and a way to mark the goal area.
Step Two
Unless you get into professional soccer, the rules are simple. There should be an equal number of players on the team and no one is allowed to touch the ball with their hands. It can be any other part of their body including: head, shoulders, knees, feet, and hips. Other rules may include, not trying to cause physical pain by kicking the ball at someone or things of that nature. Overall, if you are playing in your yard, park, or other areas and you are not playing for an actual team or on a professional level its negotiable.
On an actual team, rules may include out of bound areas, in which if the ball crosses that line, it is tossed to the team that did not put it there, and free kicks may be awarded for fouls or causing pain to another player. Soccer is not in any way, a contact sport.
Step Three
Have a great time. Soccer is a game that allows people to simply have fun being outdoors and active. You should not worry about the rules of the game or stress over anything that is going on in the field. Simply have a great time and the game will be a success, whether you win or lose.
